We are excited to announce that we’ve broken new ground with a sod-turning ceremony marking the commissioning of the site for Encore Living Trafalgar, our first project here in the beautiful pastures of Gippsland, Victoria.

Construction commences this month on our new modern retirement village, which will comprise 92 architecturally designed villas, a fully-featured community centre (club house) – including a pool and gym – and resident community facilities, all set among beautifully landscaped gardens, for the exclusive use of residents. Whether your ideal retirement is jam-packed and active, or you prefer to relax and take it easy, Encore Living will help you realise your dream.

Helping us kick the ceremony off with an official bang, and joining the group of investors, contractors, prospective residents and other invited guests, we were privileged to be joined by Councillors Peter Kostas and Murray Cook; as well as Member for Narracan, Gary Blackwood and Mayor of the Baw Baw Shire, Joe Gauci, who both spoke eloquently in welcoming the project for the shire.

In the opening addresses, Encore Living’s Director, Mark Zeldenryk, and Freedom2go’s Project Manager, Tom Camp, outlined the previously successful project experience and strong investment team behind their partnership. The project’s vision is to provide a safe, secure and low maintenance environment for the over 55s. The villas are designed to meet the changing needs of residents, providing a sense of well-being and an enjoyable environment to enhance their life in retirement.

Adding to the expertise behind this project will be local civil construction experts Sure Constructions, who will build the new development.

We’d like to mention some of the heroes of the day who helped the ceremony go off without a hitch. We were ably and generously assisted by the Trafalgar Lion’s Club, led by president Greg Sephton, who helped us to set everything up and pack it away (despite the weather leading up to the ceremony – more on that next time!), as well as catering the event and looking after the guests. Good on ya, Lions!

We’d also like to thank Sure Constructions, who prepared the site for us, helped with set up, decked us all out with hard hats & high-visibility safety gear and even cleaned and washed their excavator so it would look smart for the photos. Thank you to everyone who attended and was there to help us celebrate this exciting milestone for Trafalgar’s latest community development.

Designed for independent over 55s who want to make the most of their retirement, Encore Living Trafalgar will offer relaxed, country-style living set against the stunning backdrop of the Strzelecki ranges, whilst being within easy reach of local retail amenities, public transport and the Princes highway, with Melbourne only an hour’s drive away.

Work on the internal roads is already under way and is progressing well. Construction of the first villas will commence in late April, allowing the first resident settlements in September. We can’t wait to cut the ribbon on opening day.
